Tony Davis » Bio

Mr. Davis is one of our Math teachers at McDowell Academy for Innovation.  He attended Mars Hill University and received a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Business Management.  Later, he went back to Mars Hill University and got a teaching certificate in middle school and high school math.

Initially, Mr. Davis studied Business Administration and worked in the banking field at First Union Securities for many years.  He decided to become a math teacher because he enjoyed being around people and students, and helping them think in complex ways solving math equations.  For Mr. Davis, working through math concepts mirrors many facets of life. You work through a process and solve the problem. He tries to teach this concept in his math classes.

Mr. Davis has many hobbies outside of school, but his main love is hunting and fishing.  On any given weekend, you can find Mr. Davis out on Lake James fishing with friends or family.  When he is outside hunting or fishing, all the stresses of life go away. He also helps facilitate The Outdoor Club at MAI, and loves sharing with students his true passion.

Mr. Davis is a true family man as well.  He enjoys spending time with his family and grand-kids during holidays and time off from school.

As you can see, Mr. Davis is a very valuable team member at MAI.  Quick with a joke, and fiercely loyal as a friend, Mr. Davis is truly a unique and cherished member of the MAI family.
